So, yeah, black people were collectively embarrassed around the world when a certain rap group won an Oscar for a certain song. I don't begrudge anyone success, but I will call out foolishness when I see it and I will always demand higher standards. I'm tired of the lowest common denominator representing the totality of blackness. We are better than that, smarter than that, certainly more amazing than that.
