I won't even say it.....
I Smell Trouble - Ike and Tina Turner (Have to admit it but I'm finally realizing crazy brutal Ike can play a fierce guitar. Still enjoy Tina but I miss this supremely gritty Tina style of singing. Late pass!)
Choose - Neah Lee (I just discovered her and she is awesome! I've been getting into more err...white? Christian music, 'cept she's not white, she's Asian American, if that's the right term!! LOL Anyways, she can count me as a fan.)
Hero - Kirk Franklin (I liked this on a second listen. Someone ordered me to put their head phones on and listen to it...on a Sony Discman, of all dinosaurs!)
In My Mind - Heather Headley (I always regret not seeing her in The Lion King or Aida and it sucks that her new CD is taking forever and a day to come out. Her voice is ridiculously powerful.)
Mezzo Bar Blue - Astro (I looooove smooth jazz, especially lounge-y smooth jazz.)
Inside My Love - Minnie Riperton (Never really listened to her music beyond the two obvious hits, but someone hipped me to this song recently and I have developed a better appreciation for her. Late pass!)
Wonder - Alvik (Love, Love, Love their music. Love that an American black woman heads this group based out of Prague, I think
Dixie/Strange Fruit - Rene Marie (I could be wrong but I don't think she is as huge as she should be. Amazing voice.)
Heaven - Lamb (Kept hearing about them for years, never bothered to seek out their music meaningfully. Finally did it on i-Tunes and came across this catchy tune. Now they are on my radar. Late pass!)
In other news, I bought 4 Tori Amos live CDs some months ago and I still haven't listened to them. I've been doing this lately. Buying music (online. I rarely step foot in a music store anymore) and then forgetting to listen to it or listening to it once but going right back to my "older" stuff which I am still enamored with. I *just* listened to Erykah Badu's first 2 CDs all the way through and discovered I really really enjoyed them. LOL! I'm soooo late! Why had I never bothered before? Because I didn't feel like it....I guess. Maybe I'll catch up to Tori later. Yeah, I will, eventually.
