Ten Blogs I Would Take To A Desert Island

I am purposefully O.D.ing on memes because I am bored, so there's plenty more coming steadily.

This was super hard because I left so many off, but, as usual, in no particular order.....

1. Negrophile, so I can keep up with what black people around the world are doing.

2. Black Girls Like Us, b/c it's all about black girls like me, end of story.

3. Crunk & Disorderly, b/c I enjoy anything that makes fun of the hip hop "community" and I will need some humor.

4. Nat'l Network of Presby College Women, b/c Kelsey is the sweetest Christian feminist I know and she's on a mission to change the world. I'd need reminding (even on a desert island) that such a grand notion is not folly but actually possible.

5. Black Feminism.Org, so I can keep up with all the good and bad things going on with women.

6. Overheard in New York, b/c people say some wacky stuff for sure and this would just be more humor.

7. The Wonderful World of Ms. World, so I would remember to think of my time on the desert island as a traveling adventure. World traveling black grrrls have to stick together!!!

8. Mixed Media Watch, so I can keep up with race-related issues that affect broader ethnicities and races and cultures, etc.

9. Salon, so I can stay up to date regarding general mainstream and independent ideas in the media.

10. Booker Rising, so I can continue to receive a pointedly different political and cultural perspective on blackness, one that doesn't rely on knee-jerk liberalism.
